UK Immigration has recently changed to a points system
….work permits for the UK are not so easy to attain these days as they were 18 months ago.
There are ways that it is possible as we will discuss.
Highly skilled professionals can apply for their own work permits for the UK.
Tier 1 applications are now in place of the old highly skilled migrant program or HSMP as it was known.
For the options available for work permits for employees, on sponsored visas through the traditional 5 year (or 60 months) work permit has now been changed over to what is now known as Tier, 2 and the criteria for qualifying through the points system has been made a little more difficult.
The applicants current and past experience, salary, qualifications, job description and supervisory experienced is analysed more strictly and the salary to receive tin the UK has to be at a higher level than was previsouly allowed.
NVQ level III or above, HND level occupations are the two special visa types for the employees with lower qualifications. An employer can only hire them, showing the absence of responses from the EEA residents for the positions advertised in public media for four weeks
The UK has been in the top choices among most of the skilled professionals looking to work abroad.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of applications are submitted for work permits in the UK.
Only thirty five percent of the submitted applications get approved. That’s why, while applying for a UK work permit, you have to be very specific and careful and take proper advice and work with experienced OISC approved consultants.
The Tier one (HSMP) is a visa option only available for the highly skilled professionals. Other than those, the workers have to request for work permit in UK through their employers. An HSMP ..highly skilled migrant program or Tier 1 visa holder can work anywhere in UK for two years and they can request an extension showing the proper documents and contracts of the job. The tier 2 work permit also has a shortage occupation list in which an employer can save some time by not need ing to prove they have advertised throughout the European Union for 4 weeks and could not find any suitable resident or EEA (European Economic Area) Resident workers.
The shortage occupation list typically has executive level, health professionals, engineers, teachers, veterinary surgeons are included in that list which have high demands in UK.
Tier 3 was for seasonal workers from the EU and is now suspended, this has taken over from the old SAWS (agricultural) work permits and the old SBS work permit … A sector based scheme work permit for the meat and fish industry.
Tier 4 and Tier 5 work permits will be discussed in more detail later.
