Employers and recruiters will have noticed that a large amount of this website is dedicated to making you aware of the unscrupulous agents in the marketplace. Perhaps, and we would not disagree, that we go on about this much more than anyone else and the reason for this is simple, we travel to these countries and we see and hear stories first-hand, and we have also experienced the damage done by the agents involved. In 2007, a welder on an H-2B visa for a very well-known American company attempted suicide because he was fired. He was fired because he didnt have the skills needed and he attempted suicide because he borrowed around $16000 to pay the local agent for the job! Being fired meant he had no means to repay that money and he was ashamed because is assets would be stripped and his decision had ruined his family instead of bringing them stability and more wealth. We could tell you many shocking stories like this, but it is better that we concentrate on doing something about it rather than just talking about it. If hearing these stiories makes you feel angry and frustrated then you have some idea of how we feel when we see first hand the effects by talking to applicants, their families and feeling their pain. Not all agents are like this but far too many are. Please be very careful who you decide to work with, and if you are ever in any doubt contact us at any time by writing to
